What to Expect

We know that it is never easy to visit a new church for the first time so we want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. Whether you've been connected to a church your whole life or never stepped foot into a church, The Well is a safe place to investigate and learn about following Jesus. Below are a few insights that will hopefully answer some of your initial questions and remove some of your fears that naturally arise when coming into a new church. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact our Journey Pastor, Todd Dylewski, at Todd@thewell.tw.

How should I dress?

The Well is a "come as you are" church. Casual wear is welcome. Usually the pastor is in jeans!

What's available for my kids?

We love helping our kids learn about God! Our nursery is safe, clean and staffed by a loving group of people that will provide the exceptional care for your little ones. For elementary age kids, we have designed creative and engaging learning experiences. Check-in is required for all children up to 5th grade. If you are checking in a child, you can enter our building on the west side through our special kids ministry entrance. As you enter the basement area, you will see a check-in desk in front of you and a kids ministry guide will assist you. Parents can pick up their kids in their room after the gathering by presenting their name tag. If your child has special needs or would like to remain with you during the worship gathering that is okay. We want what is best for you and your family.

What type of music will there be?

We see musical worship as the door that helps us enter into God’s presence. Our worship band seeks to lead us through relevant sounds, as we attempt to connect with the emerging generations. We mix in some of the older hymns from time to time, but our worship band will feel vibrant and filled with soul.

Will I be asked to give money?

Offerings are given as an act of worship for participants who call The Well their home. We do teach and believe in biblical stewardship. For new guests, your presence is a gift to us. We want you to be blessed without feeling any obligation to give.

How long does the worship experience last?

Our Sunday worship experiences will last about an hour and ten minutes. We encourage people to come early, get some coffee, settle in, and connect with others. We also enjoy spending a few minutes after the gathering connecting. Relationships are a high value around The Well!

Where do I park?

We do not have a church parking lot since we are located downtown Ionia across from the theater. All parking is city street parking, which is usually very open on Sunday morning. We encourage our serving teams to park further away so that new comers can find a parking spot with ease.

What denomination is The Well?

The Well is a part of The Wesleyan Church, which traces its roots back to the reformer, John Wesley. We embrace and enjoy our heritage; however, you won't hear us promote denominationalism. We are all about promoting Jesus Christ. There are people at The Well who have faith backgrounds in almost every major denomination, but we have decided to remain united and keep our focus on Jesus. Go to www.Wesleyan.org for more information on The Wesleyan Church.
